  • Comments: This was the first time I did the Army 10-miler and I really had a good time. I'm actually glad that I had the chance to take it easy and see the sights.

  • Comments: The Army Ten Miler is a great race with great fan support the whole way. The festvities afterwards were good and the grub was too. I wish the signs would have been better for the trolleys that took you back to garment check-out. It made for a good cool down walk though. I will be sure to run this one again next year. Go Navy beat Army!!

  • Comments: Nice that the worldwide Army bases had tents with not only entertainment, but also food. Pulled pork at Ft Belvoir and Anitas breakfast burritos at Texas were must haves! Race did not seem nearly as crowded as in the past.

  • Comments: This year provided a new start and finish. Both the start and finish were very, very crowded. Sure, it was 30,000 people, but the design in years past accomodated this without much trouble. I trust that the Army 10 Miler will make the appropriate adjustments. The course and weather was great; lots of volunteers.

  • Comments: Absolutely loved it, but I might be a little bias with the fact that I'm not a serious racer and I'm an Army veteran. Just being in D.C. surrounded by national pride did it for me. I do wish they had had better post racing food and drink (recovery drink would have been nice!) but other than that, they were organized and awesome. The finisher coins were a little on the cheap side when you compare it to the Air Force Half Marathon medals, but coins are an Army thing and I love mine.

  • Comments: I only say event went off late because it took us so long to reach the start line and it then took at least a couple of miles before things started to thin out. Would like to see few more drink stations? I suppose every two miles is more than enough...guess I've just been spoiled a little by Broad Street. Still, pulling off a race of this size in DC is a pretty amazing feat.

  • Comments: The soldiers were great at the water stops. Plenty of water for everyone 10x over. navigating the water stops was a bit tricky as people started hanging out and coming to complete stops after the first water station. Navigating the course towards teh end was tricky too as I came upon several huge groups of walkers taking the entire course. I just wish people would run/walk like they [i]should[/i] drive. Slower traffic to the right! Once people put down their entry fee I think they feel entitled to walk wherever they please. This is coming from someone who barely cracked the 12min/mile pace, so you know it had to be bad out there! Still a great race though! Plan on lowering my time next year!

  • Comments: Huge race, but well organized, started on time, and had some decent schwag. Helps that I didn't have to pay for ANY of it. In fact, I think I made money off our per diem!! This is something that, when I was a cadet, I would've never thought would happen--me on a podium placing post team from the BIGGEST Army post we have. I couldn't run then. This race got me started into it all in Iraq, and I have come so far. It was fun to run as a team as well. Would've like to have trained with them, but that wasn't in the cards this year. Great group of gals.
