Pre-race routine:

Had my usual pb and whole wheat bagel and drove over to the site.
Event warmup:

Some light stretching and a little running to get ready. Took a picture with a group from work. Saw Bobby (dreamchaser) at the start and bs'd before the gun.

Comments:

I felt good from the start and was able to kept the pace through out the distance. By about mile 8 I started running with someone who does tris and we talked about various races and pushed each other the rest of the way. The weather was perfect cloudy and a slight drizzle near the end,no wind.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I beat my time from last year by almost 10 minutes and 20 minutes from two years ago.

Warm down:

Got stretched out in the med tent and got a massage.

Event comments:

This race is a big event on Long Island and they have turned it into a whole weekend with a 1 mile, 5k, 10k, full & half marathon. I will keep coming back.
