  • Comments: Great day, fun race, nice crowd (at the finish). After running the full marathon last year and enduring the lonesome 10 miles on the Wantaugh Highway (nobody for miles), it was fun to run the half this year and be in constant contact with other runners for the whole race. My goal was to break 1:50 and it kills me to have missed it by 3 seconds. Next time! One random thought: why is County Executive Ed Mangano's name on everything - the t-shirt, finishers medal, etc.? I've never run another race where a politician puts their own name on the race swag.

  • Comments: This the best road race on Long Island. Thousands of particpants and hundreds of awesome volunteers. A great expo, great post-race party. A flat, fast course.

  • Comments: This was a phenomenal event. From the Expo to the Post-Race ativities, and hundreds of volunteers, this is the Marquis Race for Long Island!

  • Comments: It is great to have a marathon/half-marathon basically in my backyard. Enthusiastic crowds and good organization. Maybe a couple of extra water stations would have been nice due to the warmer than expected weather. Overall, an excellent race that I can see myself repeating (either the half or full) in the future.

  • Comments: Long Island Marathon and Half Marathon is the marquis running event on Long Island. There is an overabundance of eager volunteers, a plethora of water stops, and this year especially, it was organized 100% perfectly. If I had to give this event an honest grade for set-up and organization - hands down it would get an A+.

  • Comments: This race is a big event on Long Island and they have turned it into a whole weekend with a 1 mile, 5k, 10k, full & half marathon. I will keep coming back.

  • Comments: Because I set such a lofty goal and was so damn intent on hitting it, I forgot to enjoy the race, the scenery, the volunteers. The Long Island Marathon people ran a 10/10 perfect event. It started at 8AM exactly; the expo the day before was decent / along with all the fun events for the kids; there were hundreds of volunteers; lots of towns people came out to cheer; the race shirt is a high-end technical shirt and they also gave us a nifty duffel bag and a shiny finishers medal; lots of post race food and activities; and the backdrop of Eisenhower park is very nice and there are plenty of facilities available. Overall the race couldn't have been more organized; except for the corral seating!
