Swim
Comments: I tried to position my self towards the rear left thinking it would be less fighting. I guess I was wrong. I am still learning the race as a whole so I was not sure what to think. My sighting sucked at best during the swim. My goal was to stay out of peoples way so I could keep my rhythem. Well I swam way off course and I hope some poor soul was not drafting off me. Thos of you who where at the race will like the next part- I almost hit land leaving the harbor. I was so far LEFT that I looked up for the next bouy and a tree branch was above my head. woops. I pull very hard left and I was way off course all day long. I was still a few mintues faster than I "estimated", but I think I totaly underestimated my swim. Looking back I could have easly swam around a 35 if I would have stayed on course. What would you do differently?: sight- but do not get confused that I was happy to finish and feel like I did not exert any energy Transition 1
Comments: I was not expecting the strippers to be so close. I also was not expecting to not be able to reach my zipper, but we all laughed about it. I did not rush T1 and I just did not want to forget anything. What would you do differently?: strap suit cord to the top of suit for easy reach Bike
Comments: Leaving T1 I think I was behind smilford. He had a problem clipping in and he was telling himself to relax and Laughed at that. Then he got so far ahead of me I did not even see him on side of the road hitchiking. I made a dumb mistake 3 days out of ironstar. I dropped my seat a little and I paid for it. I felt my legs were over extending when peddling and my back was sore after 40 minutes of riding. Not a good ride after that. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I had a side satich the entire time. Hurt like hell and the run sucked for me. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: sighting on swim, not enough bike miles, too little bike miles Event comments: I enjoyed the race and look forward to the next. Last updated: 2009-04-20 12:00 AM

WOke up around 4 and made a PB&J sandwich and had some water. Drove to race site and enjoyed the walk in. It was so much diffrent from the first tri I did in September, because the volunteers we already there and waiting to get things started.
I walked around and soaked things in, and of course looked at some real nice bikes.
Put on wetsuit and walked over to the start. Walked around and spoke with some of the othere athletes. I walked into the water just to check the temp and did a little mental warm up. Had a gel around 6:45 a was ready to go.
