Pre-race routine:

Tried to keep it at normal as possible. Woke up entirly too early, thinking why do I do this to myself. Eat a banana and yogurt after getting dressed and left for the race. Tried to sleep on the way to the race, but that didn't really happen. Once we arrived and the shuttles from parking to the race figured out how to get there, we checked a bag and walked over to the starting lines.
Event warmup:

Quick stretch and awaited the start of the race. It was delayed, though I am not entirely sure why. Listened to all the participants complain about the delay and eventually started a race.

Comments:

Ran much better than I expected considering the overall health circumstances. Having just started medication for bronchitus and finding out that I have inflamed lungs from the bronchitus I expected a very slow difficult run. My goal, though I was not convinced that I could make it was to break two hours. The first mile was the slowest being around 9:40, the fastest being mile 4 at 7:35 and all others being steady right around 8:10. My lungs where tired from not feeling well, but not so tired that I could not maintain the pace. Wish I was at 100% both at the race and during the training up to this run. I wonder what I could have done then. I think a lot of the lungs surviving given the circumstance was the altitude difference from Colorado and New Jersey. Somehow PRed even though I had no intention to even try to do this. It wasn't till mile 12 that I thought I could PR. Until this point I thought my pace would crash and I would be lucky to break two hours.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, since I was as prepared as I could have been given the conditions of the race and prep to the race.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched a little and waited near the finish line for Laura and her mother to cross together. Once we where all across we got some food and then went and picked up the checked bag and changed into dry cloths. To bad it was raining and we were soaked again by time we made it onto the shuttle and back to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Overall Health.....

Event comments:

The shuttles got lost going to the event from the parking event and the race was about 30 minutes behind schedule.
