Run
Comments: Felt good for the first couple of miles but then began to feel hot, probably because of the under shirt I was wearing. Rain began to fall lightly by about mile 5 and didn't stop for the rest of the race. My plan was to shoot for an average pace of 7 min/mile but I realized that was not going to happen by mile 4 so I shifted to my second goal of just PRing. The last 4 miles I was really feeling tired and pretty confident that was because of a lack of run training. Too much time spent training for the Oceanside half Ironman and concentrating on swimming and biking. What would you do differently?: This was the first running race I've approached were I was not concentrating on my run training so I have mixed feelings about how I did. A PR is a PR so I'm happy about that but I think if I had spent more time preparing for this race I could have done better and perhaps hit a 1.30 time. Post race
Warm down: Did some light stretching and walking around. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training for the run. Event comments: Not a great race for me in terms of how I felt but I did PR by about 3 seconds so I can't complain to much. Last updated: 2009-05-01 12:00 AM

Ate a couple of Eggo waffles on the way to the race.
Didn't do too much of a warm up other than just walking from the car to the race start, which is pretty much normal for me.
