Overall Rank = 65/301

Age Group Rank = 12/36
Pre-race routine:

I was sick for most of the week and did nothing from Mon.-Thurs. Friday I swam a 1000 and ran 4. On race day, I woke up at 6 and a claorie shake and left at 7. Hit the Dunkin Donuts for a muffin and I was at the site by 8.
Event warmup:

Waited in the packet pick up line for a half hour. Pickup was very slow. It would be a bad omen.
Swim
  • 11m 33s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

I am not sure this was a half mile since my time was almost 3 minutes faster than Nanticoke. Swim was ok. i never really was comfortable and I was extra winded when I was done. I was still congested so I am sure that was a reason.
What would you do differently?:

None.
Transition 1
  • 02m 18s
Comments:

Did my usual routine. I just need to pick up the pace.
What would you do differently?:

Go faster.
Bike
  • 43m 14s
  • 14.5 miles
  • 20.12 mile/hr
Comments:

The course started in a gravel parking lot....not a good idea. I heard there was some glass on the course and people were getting alot of flats. I had an issues with my aero bottle and I had to stop and fix it or it would have flown off the bike. That cost me at least a minute. Speed was ok but again I never felt comfortable the entire time.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing...except not be sick.
Transition 2
  • 01m 6s
Comments:

No problems here.
What would you do differently?:

Go faster and get under 1:00.
Run
  • 23m 7s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

I blew up here. The run is where I catch everyone but I had nothing. I ran 20:02 for 3 miles at Nanticoke so this was a big disappointment. Being sick took it's toll on me and I was not prepared for its effects.
What would you do differently?:

Not be sick.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out in shade for a bit, packed my gear and split.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Being sick.

Event comments:

I was not impressed with the organizers. One person checking people in, no swimcaps, no body marking, allowing people to wear ipods during the race, etc. I understand wanting to be laid back for 1st timers but this was the worst I have seen. I may do it again but improvement is needed. On to Eagleman!!
