Comments: Not the most fun swim I've ever had. Became a survival swim. Weather was nice and so was water. Wayyyy too slow. What would you do differently?: Need to practice OWS and get comfortable being hit and swimming around people Transition 1

Comments: Fastest bike ride I've had in a race. I can definitely push myself to go faster and efficiency in pedaling is coming along. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Just more seat time. Transition 2
Comments: Ok this is what really ticked me off on this race. Someone decided to put their bike in my transition area and so I had to put my bike on the ground because every place around me was full. This cost me a couple of extra seconds that I could have had on the run and really upset me. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Not using socks made this transition very fast and I loved it. Run
Comments: Legs were stiff as bricks because pushed myself much harder than normal on bike. The only other thing besides someone stealing my bike spot that was irritating occurred on the run course. The volunteers handing out water for some reason decided to put ice in the cups. Seriously... who the heck puts ice in the water cups. Not only did I choke on the ice but the water was too cold to drink. Sprinted at the very end of the course and broke away from a couple of guys I was running with . What would you do differently?: I need to train more like a race pace and do some periodization. Post race
Warm down: Enjoyed a nice banana and some gatorade. What limited your ability to perform faster: My heart rate skyrocketing during the swim course. I can't believe I had such a bad swim. Event comments: Mail awards. Kind of disappointing. After race nothing to do. Last updated: 2009-05-25 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3 and started driving to Topeka. Had a bagel and fruit before I left. Had my good ole' high calorie protein shake starting at 6AM. Took at GU 30min before swim start.
Did about 50yd warmup in lake an hour and a half before event.
