Pre-race routine:

My first tri; I sorta went with the flow. I got there when transition opened (6:00 am) set my bike up and towel. Then I walked the transitions.

For my first event, the swim went well, however I feel like I didn't take the most direct path.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe a few more open water swims, ( i had done two previously)

This was rough, the suit was stuck on my heels and yeah it sucked. Also I tried to put socks on which was also a pain.
What would you do differently?:

Get some lube for my cankles and not wear socks.

I was pleased with this portion of the race. I trained at a 16 mph pace and I had only been on a couple long rides prior to the event.

This went well, although I sorta forgot how many laps I had done and panicked a bit, but luckily I had my forerunner so I just checked the history.

Event comments:

Although I have no other Tri's to compare this to, I have been in several other races and this was wonderful. It was well organized and the director/volunteers were helpful and nice. I loved it!

Course: Mostly flat, the highway roads were perfect and the course was well marked. Several volunteers on the course making it difficult to get lost. Also we went by an Ostrich farm which was really cool!

Course: Its a 1 mile loop course- a bit boring but there is a good amount of cross country/ and hilly areas. The course was tough but it was easy for spectators to view.
