Comments: Just HORRIBLE. No warm up, then went out too hard. Totally lost my head, AND my swim cap. it wasn't until 2/3 through when I had the mind to get a grip, and BREATHE and STROKE. What would you do differently?: Everything. Take it easy, like in training. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Stood there for a long time trying to get clipped in. I tried something new with gu and it was wonderful! Scotch taped the top part of gu packet to cross bar so all i had to do was grab bottom part and rip it across so I didn't have to fuss with tearing while on the go. it worked awesomee. Had a sit of water to wash down gu. I usually don't drink much at races anyway. What would you do differently?: Use glutes to power up hills. NOT LEGS! Transition 2
Comments: Initially started running the wrong way out of transition. People pointed me in the right direction. What would you do differently?: pay attention to where I'm supposed to go. Run
Comments: frozen feet and legs made it difficult, esp for the uphill for the first 1/4 mile. Post race
Warm down: eat!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Just stoked to place 3rd overall woman for first tri. need to learn better technique and perhaps hire a swim coach!! I even forgot to take my goggles off for bike and run portion! Event comments: Good race. Not much gravel on corners. Some locations could use more guides. More mileage postings might be appreciated.
