  • Comments: Loved the fact that there was in / out signage this year. Would like to see numbers on bikes / helmets too -- safety precaution for all athletes. I think there was too long of a lag for awards. Beat my time by 7 min from last year. Willing to do it again. Great job Pittsford Rec and Fleet Feet!

  • Comments: There were more volunteers and drink stations this year so that was good. Nice food afterwards (cookies, subs, chips etc) Would have been a lot more fun in drier weather The only thing I missed was a goodie bag :) at packet pick up and also I don't like the fact that we don't have bike numbers on our bikes (security issue for me)

  • Comments: This is a nice, local race. Lots of volunteers. Blessedly, they had course marshals that stopped traffic this year. That is a huge improvement over past races.

  • Comments: I really enjoy this course. Its a fun race and it will always be special to me as my first triathlon. I have some definite bones to pick with the organizers though. 1) I got screwed on my swim seed. I called them twice before the seeds were announced to get it straight and they still messed it up. So I had to pass 9 freaking people on a 300 yard swim. 2) My swim and overall time are overstated by 15 seconds. Somehow, I started 15 seconds after I was supposed to and this was never adjusted for in the official time. 3) Many of the volunteers were really helpful. I know its a thankless job. But if you're going to course marshall, do everyone a favor and direct traffic to keep bikers safe. IF you're going to sit off to the side and let the stoplight control things, you're wasting everyone's time.

  • Comments: Always a good race. Organized, on time and a fun atmosphere. I'm beginning to wonder if they shouldn't have a cut-off for the # of total contestants. It takes a long time to get everyone through. There were probably one too many water stops on the relatively short run course (3!) From a few reports I heard, it sound as if they could have used some more road marshals at some intersections. Otherwise a good race. Some Buffalo Bills players and coaches raced today, which seemed to bring some additional excitement to the day.

  • Comments: There were plenty of aid stations on both the run and the bike (unusual for the distance), but the intersections and cross roads lacked the attendants they had last year. Other wise it was a pretty good race and Score-This always does a good job.

  • Comments: The volunteers and race organizers generally did a good job. I was very surprised, however, that there were no course marshals at a couple of intersections. Especially the one at 64 and Thornell road, at the stop light. I was very lucky and got a green light when I came through there. I'm not sure everyone was so lucky.

  • Comments: Fun race, I say now. I was 4:30 faster then the same race two years ago. So I'm pleased. Bike ride felt strong. Run was disappointing until I learned it was like 3.43 miles. Some day I'll enjoy the run. I do on it's own. Missed my goals by seconds again. sub 1:30. Great to meet Heidi's Mom, Kam's gang, and the rest of BT'ers and Master swimmers. Glad I decided to do this race at the last minute. Good training for transitions and remaining calm.

  • Comments: This is a good race and not an easy course, even though it's still just a spring distance. So, I feel happy with having done it and done it well. I think something needs to be done about the swim starts so the race doesn't go so far into the day. Maybe have it in one of the ponds at Mendon? But it's probably still too cold... Swim starts every 15-20 seconds would help.

  • Comments: This is a nice local race which is organised and efficient. Because there were so many entries this year and it was a person going every 30 seconds, it made it a very prolonged experience to wait til the end. It is great that it is becoming so popular and not sure what they could do about it - maybe set swimmers off every 15 seconds?

  • Comments: Did really well in the swim and bike. Need to practice transitions. Long lines at start through a lot of people off. When the called for the first 50 swimmers the place went nuts. The more I think about this race the better I feel about it. The run let me down but the rest went very well. Meeting up with BTer and master swimmers from my club was enjoyable. Psyched for the next Tri.

  • Comments: The race organizers did a poor job. This company does a number of races in the area and normally does a very good job. I don't know what happened on this one. But they should have gotten people their numbers on Saturday. Then, they compounded it by being late this morning, making check-in a big mess. Lastly, pizza at 9:30 AM isn't really what I'd call interesting. Especially for someone who can't eat pizza due to allergies.

  • Comments: The parts handled by the town of Pittsford were kind of bumpy and showed inexperience with race organization. The parts handled by Score-This were spot on as usual. This is low key opener/warm up for the tri season around Rochester. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for first timers due to the rolling nature of the course. If you have a heavier bike and/or aren't an experienced cyclist and runner the hills on this course can be really tough. Also the level of organization isn't really representative of other races. If you are an experienced runner/cyclist or triathlete and are looking for a good early season tune up with a hilly course, this fits the bill. I'll be there again next year.

  • Comments: The had more water on the run course this year, that was an improvement. I did notice a couple of spots that should have had a volunteer at that didn't. It also seemed that the race organization was not quite as good as last year. Last year they seemed to start racers based on swim times, though this year it seemed that it wasn't based on this. That caused for some congestion in the pool at times. Swim started on a 20 second start clock instead of the 30 second they used last year. This course is difficult because of the hills, if you can't ride and run hills well it's not a race to do.

  • Comments: The start was a bit of a mess. Turning up earlier wouldn't have helped cos the organisers weren't ready with the bibs. Standing in a long queue waiting for this and body marking etc in the rain was not fun. Didn't have time to think about anything after that except set out transition and rush to pool as I was number 49 and they were calling 1 to 50. Was one corner on run I wish they had a volunteer but luckily I knew the route quite well. There wasn't an arrow or anything on that particular turn. Full points to helpful smiling, encouraging volunteers on a rainy Sunday morning! There was pizza, cookies and cold drinks at end which was nice. However, given the weather after the first 10minutes I really could have done with a hot drink. Also fruit would have been nice. There was a long wait for awards etc at end but that was always going to be the nature of the event with a staggered start and waiting for last person to finish. I am sure the wait would have been OK if the weather
