Swim
What would you do differently?: more practice in a suit and more practice sighting. Transition 1
Comments: tough time getting shirt on What would you do differently?: need shirt that will pull over more quickly, tape snacks to bike not in shirt Bike
What would you do differently?: Good ride I just need more saddle time and more miles speed will come Transition 2
Comments: Had issues getting running shoes on, had to try two times, unsuccessfully to get running shoes on, I resorted to pulling on a pair of socks I had in my bag...... then into the shoes right away and off What would you do differently?: socks on first try?!? Run
Comments: Hot flat and scenic, good times What would you do differently?: train more? working specifically on interval training to bring the speed up, also flexibility Post race
Warm down: PEE, OK so maybe I drank too much water..... walk about, find friends, stretch, grab some food and cheer on the other racers then back to the car for a 10 hours drive home What limited your ability to perform faster: Training, new to wet suit and shotgun start, Event comments: Great event very well organized, lots of short announcements keeping everyone up to speed. lunch was provided right in the transition area allowing people to mingle and cheer on the racers. Long drive for Vancouver to Cranbrook for the race so made the choice to drive up on Friday and have Saturday as a relax stretching day, package pick up, race meeting and as luck would have it meet up with a friend and his family that live in Cranbrook! Bagel and fruit for the drive up to Wasa Lake with a OK cup of hotel coffee..... and water....
Damn forgot the heart rate strap.... just times this race no HR% info
Run around getting the bike into transition, climbing into a wetsuit for the second time (fitting was the first) paddle about in the water to get the feel of things. Little bit of stretching lots of water.
