Swim
Comments: went out too fast and struggled from there. It is amazing to me that you can practice all of those laps in the pool, trying to get your stroke better, and then race time comes and it all goes out the window. What would you do differently?: relax and swim like you know how. just like in the pool. Also wear the wetsuit, I think this makes a huge difference in energy saving. I thought I could save some time in the transition, but it backfired. I think the wetsuit pays off in the end until I swim better Transition 1
Comments: transition area was pretty rough, but it went pretty well What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: felt liked I climbed a little better this race than the first one. 50.8 mph on the big downhill. I had one problem with my computer. The screw that holds in to the mount came loose, and it flew off about 3 miles from the finish. Stupid. Had to stop, and find it then continue on. Lost some time there but at least I found it. What would you do differently?: Do a more thorough bike inspection Transition 2
Comments: consistent transition. Kept shoes on due to the rough terrain in the transition area What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: legs felt good at first, but then got heavy, and never got them back under me. no kick at the end What would you do differently?: maybe take it a little easier the week of the race, but I'm not really sure Post race
Warm down: drank a lot of water, and some gatorade. ate a banana and bullshitted a little bit What limited your ability to perform faster: I went out too fast during the swim, but I felt like I recovered quickly on the bike. Was hoping for a better run time, but it didn't happen. Event comments: good time, relaxed atmosphere, and a lot of fun Last updated: 2005-08-17 12:00 AM
