Swim
Comments: Bad day at the office. Tack on a lot of distance due to bad navigation skills. What would you do differently?: Bilateral Breathing to help keep a straight line. Wear a wetsuit. Transition 1
Comments: Goggles and cap off on the way in. Put on shoes, helmet and sun glasses. What would you do differently?: Jump mount and have shoes clipped in. Bike
Comments: Kept a nice cadence. Took on two gels. An accel gel at mile 5 and an accel gel with caffeine a couple of miles from transition. What would you do differently?: An aero drink set up would be a wise investment, otherwise nothing Transition 2
Comments: Complete stop then dismount. Mount bike, Shoes off, shoes on, run out with number belt, and sweatband in hand. What would you do differently?: Feet out of shoes on ride in. Moving dismount. Some pull tabs on the running shoes would be a good idea. Run
Comments: Got caught at the beginning of lap two by someone in age group. Stuck on his heels until a little over a mile left then I took off. He started 56th and I started 48th and still ended up losing by a small margin. What would you do differently?: Obviously I could run harder then I was, so just figure out correct pacing and stick to it. Post race
Warm down: Took in some water, whey, a banana, and half a turkey sandwich. Light Stretch. Ached in the shins for until the following Wednesday. What limited your ability to perform faster: No swim practice in about a month. No wetsuit. Little transition practice. Event comments: An awesome race in a beautiful little community. Would definitely race here again. Really flat. Great for PRs. Last updated: 2009-06-25 12:00 AM

Woke at 4:45am. Breakfast of toast with black currant jam and toast with turkey. Water to drink. Drove to venue. Picked up packet and set up in transition. Got an okay spot near the bike in/out. Took in 2 caffeine pills 1 hour out and an hammer gel 30min out.
9min light run around the lake.
