Pre-race routine:

Nice to be staying at the event location. Roll out of bed, pack car and rack bike. Forgot and vaseline or other anit-chafing solution to prevent saddle sores.

If was an odd sensation doing my first surf swim for one of these events. Navigation was still and issue. I was about 1/3 through the race before I styarted remembering to actually use my stroke technique thoughts. It really seemed to help. Hard to tell how much effect current had.
What would you do differently?:

Start focusing on technique earlier. Breathe!!!

This was going to be a sub 1:10 bike until the wind reallt started blowing. Still, I thought I had a good ride. Driving the course the day before made a huge difference. Need to always do this if feasible.
