Swim
Comments: Was not ready for the cold water. Pool training and warm open waters is all I was used to. Course was narrow. What would you do differently?: Get a wetsuit and try to do some cold water swims. Transition 1
Comments: got helmet and shoes on easliy. Ran with bike to start of bike couse. Jumped on bike and clipped in fairly easy. Bike
Comments: Course was too short to maintain high speeds for very long. After each mile had to slow way down at the turn-around and try to get back up to speed, just to turn around again. A lot of energy was wasted in the 5 turn-arounds getting back up to speed. What would you do differently?: Do more interval work. Transition 2
Comments: I got my left foot out of the shoe and was riding with it on top, but did not get left one out. Unclipped it, took it off and ran with it. What would you do differently?: Get my right foot out too. Run
Comments: I have a hard time getting used to the run after being on the bike. Since this race was so short, I was almost done by the time I started to get comfortable. I was not very happy with my run time. What would you do differently?: Increase brick workouts going from bike to run. Post race
Warm down: Took a short jog and a lot of walking. Event comments: This event was very short. I doubt I will ever run another super sprint. However, for someone starting out like myself, it was a good way to get used to larger races and becoming better at T1 & T2. Last updated: 2005-08-22 12:00 AM

Woke up 3 hours before race start. Ate some Brilla Plus pasta. Arrived 1.5 hours before race start. Picked out Transition spot, got all of my race items laid out and in-order on my towel. Ate 1 GU gel.
Stretched out a little. Went for a 15 minute ride with a few accelerations. Racked bike, went for a short jog. Stretched out more. Went for another jog.
