  • Comments: This race was part of Triple Challenge for Chicago Triathlon. Great race for beginners, good race for those warming up for Sunday's Sprint and Olympic distances. Swim course needs work as currently it's too shallow to swim effectively.

  • Comments: Loved the race. Very organized and was great for the first one. Small course and very organized made this seem very easy. Was a lot of fun and I wish that it was early in the season and I had time for a few more this year.

  • Comments: I had a great time with this race...my first triathlon, and I didn't spend much time training for it, so it was a good inspiration for what I need to do in the future. I am proud of my ranking without the training, and feel like if I stick with this sport, I will have a chance of doing fairly decently at it.

  • Comments: This was my first tri so I do not have a comparison, but I thought it was well organized and everyone was nice and supportive. A lot of first timers which was nice and the organizers handled us all well.

  • Comments: Some things that I didn't like were out of anyone's control (e.g., the swim cancellation). However, I felt the transitions had very poor security. When I came into T1, some dude was just standing by my bike staring at it. Fortunately my wife was there keeping an eye on things, plus lots of non-participants just kind of wandering around in there. I wrote it off as being a race for beginners, but now I read that the situation was much the same for Sunday's events. A fun race, and obviously they had some weather hurdles to deal with, but still could have been organized better.

  • Comments: We were told there would be no race day packet pick-up, yet I saw dozens of people doing just that. At least I stayed at a friend's apartment, so that didn't cost me an extra night in a hotel. They didn't have the normal velcro straps for timing chips and instead used the bracelets, like you'd wear around your wrist at Noah's Ark. Needless to say, it didn't come close to fitting around my ankle and they gave you a second colored bracelet which was supposed to get you into the "party" the next day, but they kept announcing at the race that your bib number was your ticket in. I ended up having to knot my timing chip into my shoelaces. There was not evnough parking for participants, the transition area was poorly planned and the hassles of dealing with Chicago were too much for me to consider doinig this event again

  • Comments: I was disappointed that they had to cancel the swim. But the duathlon format was interesting and the first run segment made the race worthwhile. This was my first Chicago Triathlon and will definitely not be my last! I'm looking forward to next year already.

  • Comments: I definately have to do another triathlon! It really helped having my dad cheer me on because whenever I would see him I would push harder. Next tri I am going to drag my friends out of bed and place them all over the course so that I don't slack.

  • Comments: This event was very short. I doubt I will ever run another super sprint. However, for someone starting out like myself, it was a good way to get used to larger races and becoming better at T1 & T2.
