Swim
Comments: Swim felt pretty good. I started way at the back based on the ppounding I took at Skinnyman last year. Slowly picked my way forward. What would you do differently?: Possibly start more toward the front based on the wave starting position. Starting all the way in the back cost a lot of time actuallu waiting for the pack to get going. Transition 1
Comments: Seemed like it took a long time to get the suit off. Socks were hard to put on - What would you do differently?: Get more of the suit off during the run out of the water. Practice getting the socks on wet feet. Bike
Comments: Bike was average for me. Hills are my downfall for sure as I slow to a crawl. Had one near miss accient with another competitor. He slowed for no reason and I moved right into him - could have been avoided but was almost a disaster What would you do differently?: Could push a little harder in th emiddle of the course. Drink more during the ride - the lack of water probably caused cramping experienced during the run. Transition 2
Comments: First - I missed my row to get the bike racked. Took a while to get bike shoes off and get my running shoes tied. Took time to hydrate What would you do differently?: Sight my area better from the bike entry Perhaps have shoes looser to get feet in quicker Run
Comments: I am just plain slow. The knee problems do not allow me to train well for this. Plus had some bad cramping of my left calf - probably due to not drinking enough during the ride. What would you do differently?: Make sure I drink more. Possibly train more, but not sure how with the bad knne Post race
Warm down: Wallked around for several minutes. Took some nutrition. What limited your ability to perform faster: My right knee mostly. Event comments: I really enjoyed this race. Light usual breakfast: banana, yogurt, small peanut butter sandwich and plenty of water
Arrived at about 7:00 for packet pick up. Got transition set up early
Walked around a bit, walked the entry and exits to the transition area and swim since I would be doing this without glasses.
