Swim
Comments: I thought this would be my strongest leg. Boy was I wrong. I caught a leg to the gut in the first 20 meters which through me for a loop. I have to rethink my strategy next time. What would you do differently?: Try to get to the outside and swim much stronger in the first 200 M. Transition 1
Comments: Not bad - I did the bike segment in my running shoes. What would you do differently?: Try to get out of the water and move more quickly! Bike
Comments: My chain came off about .25 mile into the ride. I had to stop put it back on. Dang! I had a good speed, for me anyway. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Nadda. Run
Comments: I kept a good stride going and didn't walk. A good time, for me. What would you do differently?: I think I had more to give on the way back. I wish I would have ran harder the way back. Post race
Warm down: Walked around. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think I could have tapered better leading up to the race. I also could have slept more in the days leading up to the race. Event comments: This was my first triathlon. I can't wait till my next race. My goals for this race were: 1) Finish strong : No walking, bike at my avg, swim well - Except for swimming I did well. 2) Finish in 1:41 - I beat it by 2 minutes. That really good for me. Nothing to brag about in terms of my rank here. But I was very happy with my results. I know how to do better. Last updated: 2005-08-26 12:00 AM

Up early - really early. I left with plenty of time and was like the 4th car in the lot. I ate a small breakfast on the way and drank a couple of glasses of water.
Once I got all marked up I set up my transition and stretched. That left me plenty of time to relax and take in the surroundings.
