light breakfast, drove to Blue Lake, got body marked, set up transition area, listened to pre-race briefing

dipped in water and was reassured by how much bouyency my new wetsuit provided

Comments:

Got rather tangled in weeds near the start and saw sign "no swimming here". I'ld been giving the crowd too wide of a berth. Momentary panic then calmed down. Mostly side-stroked with occasional back stroke to rest.

Keep practicing and learn to crawl.
