  • Comments: Hope they change the swim course back to the old orientation so that the bike entrance exit is closer. Other than that, really love the location, fairly small size and excellent atmosphere. Will be back next year!

  • Comments: This was a great race for me. I had hoped to shave 5 minutes or so off of my 1:43 triathlon debut and the Blue Lake Tri on June 11th, and instead I beat it by over 10 minutes! I think comfort level lack of nervousness helped a lot for this one. The 2 training triathlons I did at Hagg Lake really paid off in helping me organize my transitions, and select the best gear and clothing to use. The all-women aspect of this race made it seem very supportive and friendly, too!

  • Comments: This is a nicely organized fairly slick race on a very easy fast course. I highly recommend it. It is an especially nice course for a first tri.

  • Comments: This was a great first race. I didn't push too hard since it was just practice. Treated like any other Saturday group workout. Babied my AT. While I had plenty of nerves the day before, I was just pleasantly excited and focused day of. TNT training has really held me in good stead. Love that I got to do it with Dena. Day before was just nuts and need to take care of all the little stuff much sooner. Also avoid scheduling any appointments day before. Can't wait to do it again and I'm really glad I have another race in two weeks.

  • Comments: I had a blast. It was fun watching an entire road full of ladies riding their bikes as fast as they could. Great support from fellow competitors. I was pleased with my overall improvement in fitness and time. I have to be patient with the running which I'll be focusing on over the winter. Definitely will be doing this race again next year, the vibe is so different from coed tris. Later I enjoyed a race day recovery fueling session with pizza, cucumber gin & tonic, and a piece of banana creme pie. Yay!

  • Comments: This was my first sprint triathlon. I had a great time. I wanted to finish in 2 hours. I did it in a little less than that. The swimming was the hardest part. I'd recommend training in open water if possible. I only have access to a pool. My goggles kept fogging up. I was worried about getting disqualified for going out of bounds. I doggie paddled part of this just so I could see. Hopefully I'll have an easier time with the swim at Scoggins Valley.

  • Comments: If I could, I'd love to say thank you and give a big hug to the volunteer that followed my stubborn self in the boat. Because of him I wasn't afraid during the swim. Should have been, but wasn't. It was very calming to have a boat right there. Looking back, I should have gotten in it. I'm really disappointed with the swim outcome - mostly because I feel in a way "cheated" out of the fun weekend that I'd trained and planned for. My next event is a Du and I'll be working on the swim for next season. I don't know that I can train to prevent it, but being a stronger more efficient swimmer can't hurt.

  • Comments: It was great fun to do an all women's race. I think a lot of women who otherwise wouldn't otherwise give tris a try come out for this one. It's a very supportive environment and beginner-friendly race course. A good venue for first-timers and a nice confidence booster to end the season on for me!

  • Comments: Again, loved this race. I met all of the goals I had set for myself. Although I wanted to place higher, my times were about where I expected them to be and overall this was a good post-knee-surgery race for me. This was a good reminder to race my own race!

  • Comments: The "feel" of the race was very supportive, not aggressively competitive. It was about fun, fitness, and comradery which helped me tremendously in not getting stressed, and doing better in the long run than my previous tri.

  • Comments: I am happy that my overall time was faster than the first time. (1:42 vs. 1:38) But I am really disappointed in my swim and run. Not wearing a wetsuit I think was a poor decision since I am not a strong swimmer, but now I know. My run was just bad. I did not/do not have the same euphoric feeling I had the first time I did this race, and I am actually quite surprised at how hard I am being on myself. I did not think I set goals out of reach for my ability, and it's disappointing to not reach even modest goals. I still had fun...the most important part.
