Swim
Comments: This was my first tri and first time in the open water and wow I was not expecting the amount of contact you get. This may have been exacerbated by my inability to swim in a straight line. Didn't feel I ever really got into a rhythm until maybe the last 200 yds. What would you do differently?: Probably stay more to the outside of the group and away from all the carnage. I also need to start practicing my open water swimming Transition 1
Comments: Was debating whether to start with my shoes on the bike or whether I should just put them on in transition. The bike course started with a little hill and the run out wasn't too long so I figured I'd put the shoes on in transition. Definitely the right choice. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Not much to say here. Thought the course was good. Hope to improve on this leg in future events. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: There was a decent downhill after the dismount which was a bit precarious with the bike. Otherwise everything went well. Was a little worried about running without socks but wasn't an issue What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: I was really happy with this leg. I started out slow and then slowly picked up the pace. I ran a 5K a month ago and beat my pace in that race. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Water and a popsicle. Event comments: It was a great first triathlon and I'm looking forward to the ones to come! Last updated: 2009-08-09 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:30, showered, ate some breakfast and was out of the house at 5:15. Got to the transition area a little late and barely had enough time to set my area up.
Had a little time to swim in the bay for 5 minutes
