Pre-race routine:

well the swim was going to go off despite rough currents and rain pouring down. got in the water, swam around, got out and heard the swim was canceled and the race was pushed back to 8:00am. ugh.
Event warmup:

after the "swim" i took off my wetsuit and sat in the rain in my tri shorts and jersey freezing because i didnt think to bring any kind of long sleeve. about 10mins to start i tried to run, but my feet were kinda numb and my hands were for sure numb.

2mile + T1. warmed up about 1mile in, then felt good. HR strap was too loose and kept falling, wasted a while getting it on right again. nearly fell at the 1 mile turnaround.
What would you do differently?:

adjust HR strap better, and warm up more

was not bad going out, realized why on the way home - we were with the wind on the way out. last couple miles were brutal into the wind, but i picked up a few places by getting low and into the drop bars and just cranking it out.
