Overall Rank = 23/75
Age Group = 35-40
Age Group Rank = 1/11
Pre-race routine:

Woke up late, showed up 25 mins before the race. Didn't have a real breakfast. Downed a yogurt and 1/3 pack of GU (disgusting)

I stretched at the starting line for a few mins.
Event warmup:

I made sure my bladder would be empty before the race.
Run
  • 22m 33s
  • 3 miles
  • 07m 31s  min/mile
Comments:

Was kindda hilly and felt a little shaking some how. I told myself that I've been doing boxing in the morning at 6:45 without breakfast for a long time and if I can hang around the gym and have no breakfast till I get to work than I should be able to finish the race without a problem.

Just not my favorite part of the race. Kept thinking about food, hungry!!! and I might not be able to make it.
What would you do differently?:

Eat on the way to the race!!!!
Transition 1
  • 58m 504s
Comments:

Was kind of taking my sweet time rather.
Bike
  • 56m 34s
  • 16 miles
  • 16.97 mile/hr
Comments:

Somehow, my bladder was full. Luckily, I was able to take my mind off it.

I took a bit too much time recovering on a few hills.

I also turned the wrong way into the transition area, time wasted
What would you do differently?:

Just ride without thinking or conserving energy.
Transition 2
  • 00m 42s
Comments:

Forgot to take off sun glasses, but luckily, my son, James was near by for me to throw it to him.
Run
  • 23m 39s
  • 3 miles
  • 07m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

Almost ran back the wrong way, luckily, another female racer behind me was kind enough to say wrong way. Also learned to pick up the pace with other fast runners.
What would you do differently?:

I should've just run, run for life instead of thinking about the pain knowing that is part of the game!!!!
Post race
Warm down:

went to bathroom immediately.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I am inexperience and not a strong runner. Should be more prepared and sleep earlier the night before and have breakfast with legal doping (coffee) in the morning.

Event comments:

Don't hit the snooze button and go back to sleep

Although this is the second race of the year and in my life, I am very happy to rank #1 in my AG. I am actually a minute behind the 3rd Placed Female overall. GRRRR
