Swim
Comments: Went out very conservative, swam on the outside and did a lot of weaving due to bad sighting technique and lack of experience open water at that distance. What would you do differently?: Practice sighting more, get more aggressive in the water Transition 1
Comments: They didn't let us have our shoes clipped into the pedals for this race. What would you do differently?: Get the end spot like I intended, not wear gloves for the race Bike
What would you do differently?: Memorize the bike course visually, train more Transition 2
Comments: Applied a second coat of sunscreen using aerosol. Turned out to be very smart since we baked on the run. What would you do differently?: Make sure to get a little more coverage with the sunscreen Run
Comments: Wearing a white hat is essential. Put ice in my hat, down my shirt and shorts, and still overheated a lot. Coming from Colorado in spring made the acclimation difficult. Walked more than ran, probably 2/3 of the course. Didn't feel bad because more people were walking than running. Didn't use the sponges they were providing because they were gross and I didn't think they'd keep me cool at all. What would you do differently?: Train harder for the run. Wear more warm clothes in training to try acclimating for the heat. Post race
Warm down: Stretching, drinking water, walking a bit What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat and humidity, lack of training Event comments: Post race food was pizza and... more gatorade. That's it. Expo wasn't very impressive, would like to have seen more vendors. Last updated: 2009-08-24 12:00 AM

Got up at 0430 to eat a breakfast of two waffles, peanut butter, and a banana. Put on race outfit and made sure I had all my transition and race gear.
Not much, just some arm circles.
