Swim
Comments: Decent swim. Much improved over sprint race last month. Swam 1:50 seconds per 100 yards. Started out toward the front so as to avoid getting caught behind folks who do the breast stroke and back stroke. What would you do differently?: Push a bit harder. I took it easy on the swim. Transition 1
Comments: Friends came out to support. Spent an extra minute or two talking with them. What would you do differently?: Get that wet suit off more quickly and have shoes and shirt ready to go. Bike
Comments: I remained aerobic the entire distance. Next time, I'm going to push it harder. What would you do differently?: Get a better bike instead of my Wal-Mart special. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Did not push the run. Just wanted to finish injury free. What would you do differently?: Try to hit 9:30 minute mile next year. Post race
Warm down: An ice bath. My two and four year olds thought it was amusing and decided to join me. What limited your ability to perform faster: My concern about getting injured. My interest in finishing without running out of energy. I did not push and remained aerobic throughout the race. Next time I will do several things: 1. Swim a bit harder 2. Improve transition time from the swim to the bike 3. Push harder on the bike 4. Run a bit faster. Event comments: Nice race. Well-organized. Good, clean swim. Flat, attractive bike course.
