Swim
Comments: The sun had risen and there were only two more groups behind me. I loved the course and the swim got a little hectic by the time we caught up with the 40-44 year old men. Overall it was my favorite part of the day. What would you do differently?: I would made sure my watch started when I started to swim. I was swimming without knowing my time and probably would have pushed it a little harder. But either way, it would not have made a difference overall. Transition 1
Comments: T-1 was definitely not my strong point. I forgot to un-clip my helmet before the race so when I came up to it, I was trying to put it on and could not and didn't realize it until about 20 seconds later. So dumb.. Bike
What would you do differently?: I would probably try to keep my cadence up a little more. Transition 2
Comments: T-1 was ok. I didn't take my shoes off on the bike. I ran with them on to my rack which was pretty dumb. I just wasn't thinking about it because I was so tired. Run
Comments: The run was ok. I was running a 07:30 mile until about mile 9 when I hit a brick wall and it slowly deteriorated. By the time I was finishing, it was up to about 09:45. Horrible but my body would not give anymore. What would you do differently?: I am going to try to run more hills before my next race in May when I race in the Escape From Alcatraz Tri. Post race
Warm down: Stretching, eating and getting a massage What limited your ability to perform faster: This was my first 70.3 and I just wanted to see how I would perform I was hoping for under 5 hours but I have a lot more work to do. Event comments: The volunteers made this race easy, fun, and on time. Everything went well and there were plenty of people to help if something wrong was happening. This was my first time racing in Oceanside and it will definitely not be my last. Last updated: 2009-09-14 12:00 AM

Got to my station, set up my station and then went straight to the bathroom. The line was hundreds deep so it took a good 30 minutes just to use the restroom. By this time, the race was almost about to start so I just put on my glide and wetsuit and got ready.
Stretching and concentrating on how my race is going to go.
