Swim
Comments: Right before the gun went off 2-3 guys sneaked in front of me so when we started I had to get around them. I found the swim was congested, I did not like the order the waves went off on. All in all I had a very good swim, before I new it I was at the dock getting yanked out of the water. What would you do differently?: Stay positioned in the front before the gun goes off. Transition 1
Comments: I do not believe the time is right. I think my transition was around 3 minutes. Brought an old pair of running shoes and left them right there by the swim exit. Good move, kept my feet clean and was able to run to my bike which was about a .25 mile away. What would you do differently?: nothing. Bike
Comments: I think my transition time is wrong so my cycling time is off by about 2 minutes. Anyway I had a great ride even though the roads were wet. I took the corners slow but I was thankful I made it through the race without a flat or a crash. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Couldn't find my bike rack, lost at least 10 seconds. Other than that, it would have been a fast transition. What would you do differently?: remember where my bike was racked at. Run
Comments: Average run for not running hardly any in the last month. My plan was to run as hard and just gut it out. The rain was nice, kept cool. I was entertained by the lightening, as soon as I ran out of transition there was a huge lightening display with a loud clap of thunder shortly afterward. What would you do differently?: Train more, run more. Post race
Warm down: Met the wife and a few others from Morgan City and Berwick. Said hi to Mama Bear and the Bear. Has some muffins, got the free T-shirt collected my bike and cheered on some of the ladies in transistion that were still racing. What limited your ability to perform faster: The weather on the bike and not doing any run training. Event comments: A little unorganized for me. I waited until race morning to pick up my packet. You had to walk past transition area about 200 yards to pick up your packet and chip. Lines were short so it did not take long. Transition is in the middle of a field, which was not good this year with all the rain. It was muddy and ants were every where. I really like this race, not sure why but I do. I will be back again next year. Last updated: 2009-09-15 12:00 AM
