Comments: Felt way too good in the beginning. Wanted to run 8m/mile pace in the beginning and see how I felt around mile 8 and re-evaluate my pace. Instead, I ran too fast in the beginning and really struggled around mile 10 and 11. I SUCK at drinking while running. Nearly drowned myself three times. Coughed up gatorade for a solid half mile! What would you do differently?: Pace better. More experience will help with this. I have only run 5Ks in the past, so I had no idea how to pace. Post race
Warm down: Drank my free beer. Waited for others I knew at the race to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: I knew I had undertrained for this race, but I ran really well. Just having a more of a training base for next year will help a lot. I would like to shave about 10 min off this next year and I think that is attainable. Event comments: My first half..really my first race longer than a 5K. Had an absolute blast. Jogged about 1/2 mile from my car to the bathroom. Got to stretch while waiting in line.
