Pre-race routine:

Work up, ate oatmeal, coffee and half a banana. Got dressed.
Event warmup:

Walked around and did some dynamic stretches. Got in the water to climatize.
Swim
  • 43m 4s
  • 1931 meters
  • 02m 14s / 100 meters
Comments:

Drank a little water. Had some issues with goggles. A little rub mark on my neck.
What would you do differently?:

Buy new goggles.
Transition 1
  • 04m 10s
Comments:

Was worried that it was going to be cold, so I took some extra time to put on arm warmers and dry my tri suit.
Bike
  • 3h 10m 12s
  • 90.12 kms
  • 28.43 km/hr
Comments:

Had to stop to go pee and needed more sports drink toward the end. I borrowed some race wheels and it made a really big difference, especially in the wind. I am going to have to buy myself some for sure.
What would you do differently?:

Buy a better arrow bar bottle that does not splash up at me.
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

I did good on this one.
Run
  • 2h 32m 7s
  • 21.08 kms
  • 07m 13s  min/km
Comments:

I needed to drink pop as I needed to let out some burbs. Tried salt tablets for the first time (I know, your not suppose to try anything new). I was confused on the miles as I forgot how to convert KMs.
What would you do differently?:

Have a better aid station plan, where a watch to determine when to take gels and learn how to convert from metric.
Post race
Warm down:

Got really tight fast. Walked, stretched and did some roller coasters!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need to focus the winter on running.

Event comments:

There could have been more porta potties on the race.
