  • Comments: Rev3 events have been great, especially compared to other organizer races that I attempted earlier this summer. Much more family friendly, approachable, and the volunteers were great. The post-race food (hot dogs, hamburgers) was still rough, but better than taco bar from 3 years ago. Maybe it's just me, my stomach was off for the 60-90 minutes following the race, stuck to liquids.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: Course 'too hard' because of the very rough waters and the 'hills.' Not very big hills, but just so hard to train for them on the flat stuff out here. Oh well, I did very well on the bike!

  • Comments: I have not given a "5" rating for a race in any of my reports, but felt this one deserved it. While there were a few detractors which maybe meant a 4.8 or 4.9 rating, I have to admit that I thought Rev3 did things right all around here at Cedar Point! Despite the windy race day conditions, they readjusted to their alternate swim location and had to do that all overnight! While the swag was a bit lacking from last year, there were still some nice amenities for the triathletes including discounted park tickets. Still could've used a water bottle or socks. I liked the flash sales they had plus keeping the athletes entertained and also upbeat. There were plenty of volunteers on the course to help and direct folks. I liked the post race food as well as the expo food truck. I also liked the non bar racks, thought they were easier getting into and out of. Bike mechanic in transition fixed me right up with my rental wheels. I also liked the fact you could rent nearly everything if needed

  • Comments: There is a full (140.6) event but only several hundred contestants in it. This means one can get quite lonely on the second lap of the run if they are slow.

  • Comments: I love Rev3. I am so happy they had a swim contingency plan. This year I did a WTC 70.3 and Rev3 HIM. Rev3 is head and shoulders above WTC 70.3 series when it comes to racer experience and entertainment value. The announcer had me laughing out loud several times. They had tons of volunteers, great race support, and tons of energy at the finish line.

  • Comments: "You just finished your first half ironman. What are you going to do next?" - Eat tacos? (As all of the athletes look around at each other with 'wtf' faces) Very big let down on the post race food. I took one bite of the taco thing, my stomach flip flopped and that was enough for me. I did enjoy an orange, some water, and a gatorade. Aside from the post race menu, this was such an awesome experience. Rev3 puts on a great event. For anybody looking for a family friendly, fun but challenging race ... this is it.

  • Comments: Rev puts on a pretty darn good race. Everything was well-organized, well-staffed and well-run. They handled the switch in the swim course without a hitch. The only gripe I have is the post-race food, which is notoriously crappy at this race. Not Rev's fault in the least, as they have to coordinate with Cedar Point's catering department, which SUCKS! We had crappy pasta salad, Doritos and tacos - who the hell serves tacos after a triathlon!?!

  • Comments: Once again, Rev3 did a great job. I stayed until midnight with other CTC members to experience the "140.6 finishers party". I wish that the race was bigger though as there was not a very big crowd for this.

  • Comments: Had a good day until the last 3-4 miles of the run, but that's how it goes. Conditions were tough with the backup swim plan, and a little rain, and high winds on the bike. It was also humid. Wish I could have stayed strong until the end on the run, but I was happy with my swim, bike, and the first 8 miles or so, and happy with the overall season. Rev3 puts on good races, but this year I thought it was much more low key than last year with no pro's, the SWAG bag was weak with just a visor, and the finisher shirt was cotton (vs technical). The entertainment is good and the MC is great.

  • Comments: Rev3 is definitely a family friendly race. I thought packet pickup could've been streamlined a little better with our numbers already in our packet because it took a long time for the various ladies to go through all the numbers and find each one. Having the ART Dr's available to us was simply amazing along with the bike mechanics and muscle milk! All in all a very nice venue that I'd recommend.

  • Comments: I rate this as a 4 because I feel it was better organized last year. Registration lines were long, goody bag was far away from registration (I stumbled upon it--didn't know where it was), and the volunteers running registration and finish line were a little slow at their job, but Rev 3 does put on one great race with lots of aid stations and fun times.

  • Comments: This is just a fun race! Riding the coasters (even though they made me green around the gills again) is fun, it's a fun course to race and as always, my friends and teammates MAKE the race experience for me. I met some team members for the first time, raced with two of my favorite people in the world, Steve and Ranger, got to share racing with several first time half IM'rs: Anneleise, Paul and Bob! I saw Sue who got 1st in her ag in her 140.6 long course debut cross the finish line! To top it off I raced compliments of a friend who'd won an entry she couldn't use, and landed on the podium. A pretty great experience once again!

  • Comments: I loved this race, the venue, the atmosphere, everything was pretty incredible. This is by far the biggest triathlon I have been involved with and it was done first class, no holds barred. The Rev3 organization even waited for the very last Full Rev participant to cross the line at 19:20, more than 2 hours after the course closed. Very, very nice! It must have been an awesome experience for that last person to see that they had waited for them to cross the line. Results: Bib #855 http://rev3tri.com/cedar-point/2012-results/

  • Comments: This was my favorite race of all time. The conditions were near perfect. My whole family was there. I had a good performance that was much better than I had hoped. The race was very well run and very family friendly. Great course, great swag, and lots of participants. Great experience, still feeling very good about everything.

  • Comments: Perfect day - nice autumn day in the high sixties, low seventies - a breeze - a perfect glass lake. Nice swag ( goggles are much better than another shirt). Probably the heaviest medal I have ever got at a race. Everything from check in , set up , race day , race end went smooth. Disappointed I didnt do a little better but it was a great race environment with the HIM distance selling out. If I do this next year I should probably look into signing up earlier
