Run
Comments: My goal was 3:40:00 at 8:23/mile. Everything was going great. Conditions were just about perfect, start 42 degrees and sunny.I went out ahead of the 3:40:00 pace group and managed to click off consistent 8:11s all the way through mile 19. Then, right before the 20 mile marker..."POP". My right calf totally cratered. I heard the POP, then 3 steps later, I realized what it was. That was it, I was done. I managed a pathetic and agonizing walk/jog to the finish. Very disappointing. What would you do differently?: I'm not sure if the injury was avoidable or not. Everything else was good. Post race
Warm down: Painful 1 mile walk to the car...then home for ice packs and 3 hour nap. What limited your ability to perform faster: torn calf Event comments: I think they actually listened to feedback from previous years, cause porta-pottys were not an issue at all this year. Pretty decent night sleep (for a change). Breakfast: cup of coffee, bagel, banana, a little gatorade.
Not much, just a little light stretching
