  • 2112 yards
  • 02m 03s / 100 yards
Comments:

Found some good people to share drafting duties with.
What would you do differently?:

Get more swim training in. Way under trained but happy with my performance
Transition 1
  • 03m 55s
Comments:

A bit baffled getting stuff stuffed into the T1 transfer bag. Hung my helmet in a differtent spot on my bike and couldn't find it for a few. Way to long of a transition for me.
What would you do differently?:

Be more organized

Comments:

Really happy with my bike, managed get a good rythm going in the flats, on the hills, and going down with light pressure, had alot more to give if I would have wanted to, wanted something left for the run. My garmin ran out of memory at around mile 38 (me bad, didn't delete old data) so I had to ride blind the rest of the race.

Felt great the whole ride, happy I went with my 11-23 cassette. The only time I dropped to my small front chain ring was riding back to the car after the race.
What would you do differently?:

Delte my old records on the Garmin before the race.
Transition 2
  • 04m 32s
Comments:

Visit to the porta potty caused this to be 2 minutes longer than usual
What would you do differently?:

Let it out more on the bike
Run
  • 1h 52m 23s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt really good till the last hill climb between T1 and T2, forced a run up then did a short walk at the next aid station for a GU and hydration.
What would you do differently?:

Get more training runs in. I was really under trained for the run but did better than my runs on other 70.3s
Post race
Warm down:

stretch, walk, and the wonderful ice bath

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Under trained

Event comments:

New 70.3 PR for me and vendication for the 1st IMKS I did two years ago, when I puked on the bike 4 times and ended up averaging 10 minute miles on the run due to dehydration.

Had a great time. It was really cool to be racing with other BTers, my tri club KC Multisports, other friends, and people from all over the country.

Super Volunteers.
