  • Comments: Parking on race morning was terrible. Race got a late start because no one could get into the park b/c of traffic. Not enough drink stations on the bike in my opinion.

  • Comments: WTC always puts on an amazing race and this was no exception. I was extremely happy with my performance and how the day went. Was pretty exhausted afterwards but wasn't de-hydrated. I've really got my nutrition dialed in I think.

  • Comments: Great race, too many small things that I saw occur during race day to list, but I was impressed by the effort given by IM and Silverback. Their pre-race athlete guide could use some copy-editing as it appears to have contained information copy and pasted from previous years that would contradict other information found in the same guide. With that said, I love this race and I will participate again in the future.

  • Comments: Never done an Ironman branded race before. They did a really good job. I just wish I would have actually got some food but I was too lost mentally to eat at that point.

  • Comments: Hard for me to accurately rate this race. First HIM so don't have any others to compare against. Compared to other tris, they do a very good job. But the split transition I'm not crazy about. The volunteers were awesome, every single one of them. I was expecting more vendors in the village, but that didn't impact the event or weekend at all. Very good race - I'll be back next year because I made so many new friends and even got reconnected with an old one! Amy and Troy totally made the weekend even more memorable than it already was.

  • Comments: Overall, I'm very pleased with my performance. I've left plenty of room for a PR at my next half:) Really though, I'm excited and proud of my performance and I'm glad that I can recognize areas for improvement. I didn't place very well, but I beat almost all of my goals: 1. Finish a HIM - Success 2. Finish a HIM 16mph on the bike - Just missed 7. Average >18mph on the bike - No even close 8. Complete run in <2h30min - Success 9. Average <10min mile on run - Maybe next time :)

  • Comments: The pulled pork sandwich after the race was not the best thing I've ever had in my life. Also the way to get to the food area for the athletes was set up bass ackwards. You exit the finishing chute, they hand you a water bottle, cap, and medal, and then there's nothing. So you turn around, walk through the mock amphitheater all the way down to T2 where they're handing out free chocolate milk, and THEN you see food. But it's not free food--they're charging for it. What the heck?! Oh, I guess that's not the athlete's food, that entrance is in some obscure location over here. Apparently they're not used to dealing with confused and energy depleted triathletes after a long race in the heat..?? So that rubbed me the wrong way a little bit. Just caught me at the wrong time of day I suppose. Also it would have been cool if there were more timing mats--say one at halfway-ish on the bike course and another one somewhere on the run. That way the folks spectating at home (as well as

  • Comments: Great race. Great management, venue, and organization. Outstanding volunteers. There is a reason I keep doing this race. The only odd thing was that on Saturday at 1:00 they were out of men's medium t-shirts. They said they'll mail them to us. Shug. Anyway, I'll be back for this race again.

  • Comments: Excellent event. Race director is top notch. Plenty of very helpful volunteers, food, water, etc. I've done this race one other time, and will be back next year, hopefully with better execution.

  • Comments: Just an awesome race. I can't thank the volunteers and spectators enough. The sprinklers and water sprayers on the run course were miracles! This is an excellent race venue, awesome and challenging course, and really a top-notch race. If I'm recovered by next year, I'll definitely be back! It was also great camping and meeting so many other BTers! I highly recommend camping to anyone doing this race in the future, and hope to see everyone at other races!!!!

  • Comments: The only thing wrong with this race was the weather. The race itself is top notch. Loved it. Honestly, I didn't really think much about the weather. I didn't realize it was that rough until I read everyone else's race reports. Just naive on my part I guess.

  • Comments: I didn't like the two transitions, but I guess that's the only way to do it there. My wife tells me there weren't enough garbage cans but other than that, seemed like enough services. Great aid stations along the way and a pretty nice atmosphere in the campground with people spraying water from their campsites and such. There is a LOT of walking you have to do to set up and after. That kind of sucks, but again, not much that can be done because of the space I guess.

  • Comments: Very well put on race. All of my negatives are due to weather which obviously WTC cannot control. My only gripe would be that they tore down T1 immediately after the swim was over and just left everyones stuff laying in an empty parking lot. I had my tire pump, transition bag, wallet, keys, and phone just laying out there for anyone to come steal. Fortunately I didn't lose anything but from the sounds of it there were several wetsuit/speedsuit thefts. They do give you an item bag to put your stuff into that they pick up and put into T2 which is secured until the end, but this essentially means that you'd have to put all your stuff into this bag during your transition which is stupid.
