Run
Comments: Oye. Where to start? I've been training at a 10min/mile pace. Was on track to hit that (my goal was around 1:35 time) but hit mile 6 and bonked. HARD. From that point on had to walk at mile markers 7 and 8 - pushed through the headwinds for that quarter/half mile but it totally wore me out. I had no pockets in my fleece overcoat, which proved to be my downfall - if I'd had any type of energy gel or Clif Blok I think I would have been ok. PS - Saw a couple of Donkeys (Donkai, right?) that passed me between mile 1 & 2. Kept wondering who they were - so belated "HI!!!" :o) What would you do differently?: Pockets for gel/energy!! Still dissapointed in my final time, but what are you gonna do... Post race
Warm down: Walk back to the car...the Pnut was cold and tired, so no chance for drinks afterwards. :o( What limited your ability to perform faster: Bonked, plain and simple. Event comments: Great race - would love to do again next year. Last updated: 2009-11-01 12:00 AM

Power Harvest Bar before we leave the house, a little watered down Gatorade in the car, two Clif Blocks before start.
Anything I could!! Hubs and I (and the little one, aka Pnut) got there around 8:15am and huddled inside the War Memorial prior to race start. It was cold!! Got outside and lined up...this was my first LDR, so I didn't know that all the 5K/15K contestants all started together. Jumped up and down before the start (which I didn't even hear).
