Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4:15, drank an Ensure and ate a peice of toast with peanut butter and honey. Gathered up my bags and left for the race at 4:45. Arrived at the race @ 5:45.
Event warmup:

Ran for a couple of minutes with a little light stretching. Got all of my gear ready and headed for the start.

Comments:

Started out with the 3:40 pace group and ran with them for 4 or so miles. I then went ahead of the group to get some running room. I felt pretty good through the first half. I was feeling great the 2nd half and seemed to be passing a good bit of runners. A Marine working the course told me that the 3:30 pace group was close and that I looked to be going faster than them. I caught and past them @ mile 22. I managed to stay in front of them and finished with a 3:29.33. I negative split the 2nd half by over 5 min. The race was a new pr by over 20 minutes.

Warm down:

enjoyed watching the race finish with family and friends.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing.
