  • Comments: Not a big race, so no real expo or pre-post race activities. If you are into shirts/medals/swag/big crowds, you will be disappointed. If you choose races based on PR potential, this is a great one.

  • Comments: It was just an okay race. The expo is tiny so you definitely don't want to forget anything important. As I've mentioned, the course was long. The course itself wasn't terrible but it was less than scenic. I would maybe do this race again if a dear friend begged me. Not horrible but not great.

  • Comments: OK, race comments time. I liked this race and would like to return to complete some unfinished business. However, there are a few points I would like to make. First, the T-shirts, YIKES! Ugly and huge! We measured a small and medium and they were virtually identical. No women's sizes and I dropped from a large to a medium and it's still a freaking dress. Also, the drink stations were inconsistent. In every race I've ever run, it's water first, then gatorade. The first station was the opposite. OK, I get it, but guess what? The next station was flipped back. And so on, and so on. In some cases, like between the 1/2 point and the end of Mi. 14 I think there were three drink stations. WTF? Those that worked them though were great and also I would like to mention the noticeable presence of our service men and women. What a generous gift of their time to cheer us on. I really appreciated that. Next year, if I return, I would like to stay for Mardi Gras. That might be fun.

  • Comments: This is one of the best races for support several neighborhoods also set up stations. very well organized and will continue to race next year. The only downside is a VERY small expo.

  • Comments: This race is well put on. It is very organized with lots of aid stations, volunteers and traffic control. It is a flat course. If you like flat courses and smaller races, this marathon is a great one to consider doing. There were some other events going on in town that weekend, including a Georgia Cup race. I drove in with only enough time to pick up race number and left as soon as I felt I could stand sitting in the car for the 3.5 hour ride back to Atlanta so I never really checked out the town or the events. As much as I didn't enjoy this race, I would consider doing this race again if I wasn't going solo. It is definitely a flat, "easy" course and with the right attitude and support it could be a great course to try and break or set some PRs.

  • Comments: For being such a small race, things were extremely organized. There were actually more volunteers than racers! If it weren't so far away, I would definitely do it again, but if you live down south, you should give this race a shot!
