Comments:

Not used to starting in one of the last waves. I liked it because I am usually getting passed by a lot of strong swimmers behind me. It really felt good passing people 2 waves in fromt of me.
What would you do differently?:

More open water swimming in wetsuit.

Slow time
What would you do differently?:

practice removing wetsuit with garmin and timing chip strap on. I practiced at home but wetsuit was hard to get off over garmin.

Run
  • 1h 01m 57s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

Really wanted to break 3 hour and I was right on track until 4 miles into the run. At 4 miles I had magor IT band pain and hand to slow down. It was really dissapointong because I had paced myself well and other than knee pain I still felt pretty decent. I felt like if I didn't slow down I would injure my knee, so I missed my goal by 55 seconds. Overall I am happy because I thought I would be about 3:08, but felt if everything went my way maybe I could break 3:00hrs. This was my first sprint because I just got into triathalon 6 months ago.
Post race
Warm down:

Ice knee

What limited your ability to perform faster:

ITB band ssues.

Event comments:

Great Race and I woul definately do it again. I hope it doesn,t fall on daylight savings time next year, losing 1 hour on race morning hurts.
