Swim
Comments: I'm not a strong swimmer...Found myself reciting a line from Finding Nemo "just keep swimming..." I was hoping for 35 min swim. What would you do differently?: Need more open water swims and just need to get faster in the water... Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Course was great, the hills were manageable. I passed the first aid station thinking I have plenty of fluids. That was a mistake, it got hot quick and I was dry for 20 minutes before the aid station #2. Not sure I ever got back on top of my hydration after that. Was hoping for 2:40:00 on the bike. What would you do differently?: I failed to account for how much energy the swim would take from me and I wasn't as fresh on the bike as I thought I would be. Need more swim/bike bricks. Transition 2
Run
Comments: This was tough. I injured IT Band running the Horsetooth Half a month prior. Suffered through a lot of knee pain on my training runs in the weeks prior to the race. 2 days out, Dr gave me a cortizone shot (didn't help) and Phys Therapy tried needeling and kinesio tape. I knew going into the run it was going to be painful. I ended up walking a lot of the run course which was very frustrating. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Knee injury (IT Band) Event comments: This was my first HIM. After several sprint and olys, I'm liking this distance the best. Now it's time to let my Physio do her majic and get my knee ready for Harvest Moon. Last updated: 2009-12-14 12:00 AM

Woke up at campsite to the announcer saying "wetsuits are allowed". Smiled and closed my eyes for another 30 minutes. Camping is the way to go.
