Swim
Comments: Swam a bit to get warmed up in the cool water. Start was late due to placement of the bouys. A little jostling getting going but did not get my goggles kicked off this time. I stayed with my three-stroke breathing a bit better but still did a lot of one side breathing. I didn't site as well as I would have liked. What would you do differently?: Get in more OWS. Transition 1
Comments: Long run up the beach to T1, didn't get my shoes on as quickly as I would have liked. What would you do differently?: More practice getting the wetsuit off and shoes on. Bike
Comments: Felt a little winded on the first third of the bike, went hard on the swim and felt the climb out of the park. Enjoyed the downhill out of the park. Kept a pretty high average throughout, maybe too hard. Passed by the 60 year-old dude a third of the way through, respect. Got passed by two guys in my AG, kept telling myself I would catch them in the run, not so much. Pushed as hard as I could on the hill back in to the park, happy with the ride. What would you do differently?: Not much, felt pretty good with the ride. Maybe go easier to conserve for the run, just hard in the sprints, I feel like I want to go all out the whole way and hang on. Transition 2
Comments: Much better transition, took a little doing to get my race belt on for the run. L was waving her hoodie overhead for me, that was cool. What would you do differently?: Maybe wear the race belt out of T1, doubt it though. Run
Comments: Weak link. Had a good block of running about four weeks out but fell off due to various excuses. The heel bothered me a bit but was not the main cause of the slow run. Saw one of my AG guys ahead of me but could not take him. Nobody at the finish line so no mad dash, disappointed with that. What would you do differently?: Focus on my running in training. I really want to improve, I have to prove it by running more. Post race
Warm down: Gatorade, water, banana, orange, fig newton. Hung with the family and did a little stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Proper pacing and lack of run fitness. Event comments: Can't wait to improve next year, goal will be 1:25. Last updated: 2010-01-04 12:00 AM

Up early at 3:30, had a waffle with PB. Triple checked all my gear and got the girls up. Picked up my mom and aunt on the way out of town.
