Swim
Comments: This was a good swim that started out pretty badly. I know that when it comes to sprints there are bound to be all kinds of first timers there... and I am all for them. I am proud of them and happy to see our sport grow, BUT, I should have set myself up in the front knowing that I would have a faster swim time than many in the water with me. There were many, many people in my way and I had to navigate through them first before I could settle in. I briefly, and I mean briefly, touched one guys foot and he kicked me so hard in the shoulder... he obviously did that because he was pissed. I understand that no one ever taught him that that would happen and the proper etiquette, but c'mon, really? I pushed his foot out of my way and sped by him. What would you do differently?: I am going to stop short-changing myself on the swim and I am going to start lining up near the front. Transition 1

Comments: Great ride. I can honestly say that there is nothing I am upset about with today's ride. I had to HTFU a bit with some of the headwind through the middle of the ride, but I was riding so well and so fast, I was ecstatic throughout. Coming into the race at 194.6 helped a lot I think. I was flying down the descents and climbing really well. I am totally thrilled with this ride. I I went into it with the mindset that, "hey, it's a sprint, I might as well go all out." Transition 2
Comments: Not bad, but still could be better. I need to work on my transitions. Run
Comments: I'm very happy with the effort I put forth in this run. I wanted to average in the eights, but that wasn't to be. It started getting very hot during the run, but I kept finding shade and pouring water over my head. I didn't wear the Garmin so I don't have accurate splits but according to my watch, mile 3 was faster than mile 2 by about :45. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and ate as uch fruit as I could find. Event comments: This is a great race, plain and simple. The finish is like none other that I have done. The run up Turtle Hill to the base of the Lighthouse is magical. There are always tons of spectators there to cheer you on as you approach the finish. I love the finish of this race. I am very happy with how I did today. I set a course PR by 5 minutes and I really put out a great effort throughout the entire race. Last updated: 2010-02-28 12:00 AM

Drove out to the race start with plenty of time to spare. It is a pont-to-point race so there are some things you have to work out with the two seperate transition areas. I knew this going in so I made sure I gave myself a lot of time to get set up.
Swam about 200 yards
