I put 1:25 as my 100 yard time- good thing I lied because everyone else lied so I was in the right spot.

42 degrees + wind + muddy transition area = bad T1

It was cold enough that I had to put on a cycling jersey for the ride. Being wet and trying to put the jersey and gloves on was really tough. Plus I didn't keep my shoes on my bike because I didn't want to run thru mud. all of that slowed me down a lot. I was ranked 4th in T1 but normally would have done much better.


What would you do differently?:

I wouldn't have changed anything. No way I am riding sopping wet in my tri-suit in 40 degree temps.

Even worse transition.

Kept shoes on because of mud, had to take off Jersey, couldn't unclip helmet, had a hard time putting running shoes on, started running and couldn't get number belt to clip, couldn't get Garmin on..... I was 14th in T2.
