Swim
Comments: I really thought I would have at least had the same finish time as last year. The course seemed longer and of course I let the cold water "get to me" and my breathing isn't good for the 1st 150 yds or so. I was really disappointed. What would you do differently?: Need to practice more in the cold water. Would have liked to practice more over the past 3 wks, but sore shoulder prevented it Transition 1
Comments: I felt dizzy and disoriented and almost fell over while take off the wetsuit, so I took my time to get my bearings before jumping on the bike. Bike
Comments: I am very pleased with the bike split. I had some tech difficulty...heard some squeaking noise and looked down and hit a major pothole...then I heard a clinging noise, like something fell off my bike. Then my tire started to rub, so I opened the brake lever and made sure to close it before the finish. What would you do differently?: maybe ride a little before the race, this isn't the first time I've had wheel rubbing Transition 2
Comments: I don't do the fancy bike on the pedals thing, so all in all it was fine. Run
Comments: Felt pretty good, just a little cramping around mile 3. I was a little slower than last year, but I was trying my best for that day. Post race
Warm down: little massage then just packed up and headed out. Stopped at the farmer's market, then to Marie Catrib's for some coffee and breakfast. I was freezing. What limited your ability to perform faster: I need more swim practice Event comments: I wasn't really into the race this year. Usually I am nervous and excited but I think the sudden transition to fall affected my motivation. I am glad I did it, it's a great race. Last updated: 2010-03-13 12:00 AM

Up at 4:45, coffee, quick shower, stretch, and 1/2 a breakfast cookie. Left the house at 5:30 and drank some up my pre-race drink. I arrived in EGR at 6:15. Racked my bike and got set up and decided to run back and get a heavier jacket just in case I was freezing after the swim. Unfortunately, when I got back, they announced that everyone had to be out of the water. I really wanted to get a warm up in, on the other hand, it would have been miserable standing around for 1/2 hour waiting for my heat to start.
