Swim
Comments: Like the TT start. Decided to stay calm, breath bi-lateraly, and not worry about bumping into others. What would you do differently?: Swim more OWS without wetsuit. Found myself wide left at times. Try to stay tighter to the bouys. Transition 1
Comments: longer distances in transition than I'm used to. 23rd in AG What would you do differently?: Did not feel like any time was wasted here, I know I passed at least two guys in my AG during T1 Bike
Comments: Might have pushed a little too hard, but felt right at the time. Passed some TT bikes, which is always a secondary goal of mine. Overall passed more people than passed me. What would you do differently?: Drink some of the water they handed out, then dump on my head instead of just pouring it all on me. Transition 2
Comments: I am pleased with T2 as well, passed a lot of people near the dismount line, I don't slow down much. 21st in AG What would you do differently?: Not dump Gatorade on my head right out of the gate. Run
Comments: Started out at the right pace, but couldn't hold it. Slowed the most around two miles in when my watch wouldn't stop beeping and my focus switched to shutting it up. Unable to get back up to speed after that. What would you do differently?: Didn't do great at drinking all the water in my cup. Took one cup to drink and one to dump on my head, but still felt very hot. Still afraid of bonking on a run, therefore not sure if I pushed with my all. Post race
Warm down: Cold towels, cold water, chatting. Grapes are an excellent post-race food. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of run training. Did get hot, but not oppressive if I'd drank more. I bet slowing more at the aid stations and getting two waters to drink would have helped more in the end. Event comments: Expensive, cheap finishers medal, almost prefer to not get one with the lack of thought that went into this one, that's about the only negatives for this event. Still had that hometown feel for a big race, but get there early if you'd like to park relativly close to the start/finish. Lake seemed clean and not too weedy. Bike roads are rough, but better than I remember them being during training. Last updated: 2010-03-16 12:00 AM

Up at a normal work-day hour. Cereal and OJ at home.
Set up transition, walked the ins and outs a couple times. Did two or three warm up jaunts in the lake.
