Swim
Comments: You can tell a runner, you can even tell a biker. You have to be careful about judging a swimmer. There were three women in my wave that seemed to a little bit snooty. It felt like they seemed to think I was not much of a threat as we stood to waiting to get in the corral and water. HAH! Started to the left of the three in front. The lady to my left wand I had a great talk. Decided then to push it hard. Air horn and off we go. Sprinted hard, I even did some kicking. Moved slowly right to buoy line. I cleared the pack and the wave in the first 200 yards or so and never felt a draft. The chop on the way out was tough to time and pretty good. Was glad to hit the turn buoy and be sliding with the chop. Passed a good deal of the wave ahead of me. I was the first yellow cap waver out of the water and never looked back. Ran well to T1, like Mike! What would you do differently?: Nothing smoked it. Transition 1
Comments: Went well. May have to start lubing my heels a little. AG 7 OA 56 Bike
Comments: Thought it was a little better. As we hit the road some volunteers yells "You are off to Amsterdam now". ???? I know I'm first and now the rabbit again. I pushed hard and passed quite a few. Passed by one maybe two. At 4 miles get passed by first of my AG. At mile 5 I reach for my water bottle and nothing just air in it. Dam gonna be a little thirsty till I hit the run. Get passed by the third of my AG at turn, then one more a mile out. Almost buy it on a rough patch. What would you do differently?: We all know, lose weight. Transition 2
Comments: Borrowed my neighbors crate but the chair two bikes down looked good too. What would you do differently?: Practice T2. Run
Comments: Knew I was not going to metal so the goal was to run the whole way. Last year had to do two laps glad I would be done in one this year. Before the first 1/4 mile passed by my AGer friend. Oh well push. Half mile slap Mike Hi five and head up the gorge. Drank a cup or two of water and maybe a gatorade as every one of the 4 rest stops. NIce to hear my name, hear Mike and run it home. Got passed by more of my AGs. What would you do differently?: Run more, away from the ice cream store. Post race
Warm down: Walked and drank water. Met up with Mike. He placed third in AG. I was 23 seconds behind him and 11th in my AG. I thought was going to out live these peoples. And somewhere there is a bus load of 45-49 male AGers stuck at the border. What limited your ability to perform faster: genetics Event comments: Great race nice venue and good people. Lot of nice race booty for sure. Last updated: 2010-04-03 12:00 AM

Outing Mike for a tri at 5:00am. At least he had a bike and van to drive. Oh yeah he did have run shoes. Not much else.
I slept fairly. Up before that alarm. Had a headache. Dehydrated from being outside most the day. Drank up as much as I could.
I had mixed emotions about this race. Still tired from the race yesterday. Would I try to push hard or to take it easy and encourage other along. Opted to push it.
2 pieces of toast, coffee and water for breakfast and 2 packs of fig newtons as we waited for my waves three hours after we got there.
Walked here walked there. Thought Mat was being a little selfish eating ice cream in front of us at 8:30 in the morning. Mike made me get wet a few hundred yards.
