Comments: My lack of consistent swim training (intervals/speedwork) showed in my time. I felt comfortable in the water, even in the chop. What would you do differently?: More Speed Work to get my swim time down to a more competitive time. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: I slathered a lot of body glide on my calves to ensure the wetsuit would come off quickly and had no issues. Got into shoes, gloves and helmet quickly and ran past a number of people at the mount line and was on my way. 9O/4AG ![]() Bike
Comments: Purposely rode the course easy to save my legs for the run, time was nearly identical to the previous year where I hammered the course and suffered on the run. Rode with a few different racers, chatting and having a good time. I did hammer the gravel road coming into T2. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: It was a blur, a good and fast transition. Shoes off, trail shoes on, grabbed race belt and I was gone. 1O/1AG ![]() Run
Comments: This run hurts, one of the hardest trail runs out there. There is only one short section that uses pavement/gravel, everything else is in and out of the trees, over roots/rocks. I stumbled once and fell on another section. Tough Course, loved it. What would you do differently?: Run faster. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Went to the lake with my son and soaked my legs. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of consistent swim sets. Event comments: a great xterra course. Although my time was off by over 5 minutes from last year, I had a great time. Especially since my family was there to cheer me on. Last updated: 2010-04-05 12:00 AM
