Run
Comments: Strong first couple miles. Ran out of gas a little on the last mile. Still happy with my results What would you do differently?: I was very happy with this portion of the race. I ran a good strong pace, but didn't kill myself for the rest of the race Transition 1
Comments: I was very happy with my transition, especially since it was my first ever run to bike transition. What would you do differently?: I accidentally ran on the wrong side of my bike, so I had to switch sides in order to jump on (I can only jump on running when I am on the left). Bike
Comments: Pretty flat ride with just one small hill. The road is very bumpy due to cracks. Lost one of my water bottles on the first lap. There was a slight headwind for about 2 miles of the course. What would you do differently?: I think I could have ridden a little harder. At times I kind of checked out mentally. Transition 2
Comments: I was very happy with this transition. I had to take an extra second to put my beanie back on as it was still pretty chilly out. Run
Comments: I had some major cramping issues on run two. I knew I was tight getting off the back so I tried to push through some of the minor cramps. I had a major right hamstring cramp right before mile 1 and had to stop and stretch it. Felt pretty good after that, then right after mile 2 the left hamstring cramped hard and I had to stretch it. I figured I lost about 2 minutes to to stretching out cramps. What would you do differently?: I need to take some salt tablets during the ride to avoid cramping Post race
Warm down: some light jogging and stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: Cramping on run 2. Event comments: Good race, well ran. Will be doing the other 2 events in the duathlon series. Last updated: 2010-04-05 12:00 AM

Normal breakfast, english muffin and banana. Ate a PB sandwich once I got checked in an everything ready in transition.
Did some light jogging and strides, along with some stretching.
