  • Comments: I was happy with the agegroup podium on very little training and know now that I need to train now! Lucky day for me that faster people in my agegroup didn't show up today.

  • Comments: Great race, bike course was a little redundant, lots of traffic, one circuit would have been nice, but tons of volunteers, good mood, relaxed, a race I would love to do again... 46/177 Male

  • Comments: I used to rank better in running than riding -- I guess joining a cycling team is helping. I think I need to focus on shorter distances and work on speed since I think that's my strength. Love Racing Underground events -- a smaller group of fun people!

  • Comments: I'm really happy with this race. I went almost 5 minutes faster than last year. Both running and cycling has improved significantly and this was a good early season test. I wish I had my power data, but oh well. May have been able to go little faster had I rode my disc and 1080. The tires glued on those has a pretty significant lower CRR than the Conti's. My wife (hotrodmeg) kicked some serious bootie with 2nd place in AG, and less than a minute off of first. I'm super proud of her!

  • Comments: I'm not a big drinker but a cold beer after a race is almost a given for me. If they had a keg I didn't see it. Maybe something to stick in the cooler. Passing a lot of the fat tire people was fun but a little on the dangerous side

  • Comments: Can't complain about 2nd in my AG. Last season, 4th seemed to be my place...nice to see some progress. Gotta keep it up now! I even won a raffle prize, a pair of crocs and some hammer drink mix. Nice!!

  • Comments: First and foremost I cannot stand drafting. If someone is behind me they've all but signed a release form that allows me to spit, snot, and swerve all over the road. Beyond that Racing Underground has some super fun races. I'll be racing Tinman next weekend and intend to go hard at that race. I'll be using it to make sure everything is in order for Lake Stevens. I also want to use Tinman to figure out my wattage numbers, HR's, and nutrition. So I'm pretty excited about next weekend.

  • Comments: This was a great race aside from the rain at the start and the gale-force winds at the finish. I've done two duathlons before, but this was my first run-bike-run race. I liked the set-up and will deffinately do this one again. Oh, and no flat tire this time! YAHOO!!

  • Comments: This was my first duathlon and I really didn't know what to expect. I have run more than ever but have not spent the quality time on the bike. Early in the week I realized this. I believed I could do something in the around 1:42 and everything else would be Phil 4:13, "It is not I but Christ who lives within me". Both runs were faster than my previous PR of 22:30 (set in a sprint tri last year at about 300 ft above sea level) My bike time was about at my goal pace, but that goal was not set on anything done this year, but more on "I need this time to reach my 1:40 goal". I set the 1:40 goal, because that is what I thought I would need to win the over 40 Clydesdale category. I nailed the bike time and shattered the run times so I came in under the goal and won the Category. BT was well represented there today even though some were on "injured reserve" Praise God for this blessing today. I have a lot of work to get ready for the next race in the series. One friend beat me by

  • Comments: Great early season DU. I won a pint glass and hung out with Richard and other Bters. BT did awesome today. Scott (peto primo) was 1st or 2nd Clyde. And KiloDave was 2nd in 35-39. Awesome day. Really can't believe I had such a good race!

  • Comments: A fun race. Somewhat disorganized:started late; then they tried to have a pre-race meeting near the registration table but most people were already at the starting line; couldn't hear any announcements at the start so I just had to watch the people around me to know when my wave was starting; it would have been nice to have mile markers on the 2nd run.

  • Comments: I had fun! This was new to me, pacing things and running pretty much at threshold pace the entire race. And even though it felt slow, the numbers say otherwise, and I think I had a damn good race out there. Ended up in the top 100 out of around 500 or so, and #14 in my AG (40+ people I think). I have to learn to not get so caught up in speed that I sacrifice the remiaing portions. I hammered that bike course, and I felt it on the next run. Had I slowed it down a bit, who knows? I doubt I would have run it too much faster, but you just never know.... Great start to the season though, and I'm psyched to keep racing this year!

  • Comments: Except for starting 20 minutes late it was a good race. I'm really hoping I didn't make a stupid decision by doing this. Overall happy with my 1st run & bike though. New 5k PR without even trying (and I was 8-10 beats below LT) so I'm making progress.

  • Comments: Great food and drinks afterwards. I got to see many friends and met new ones. Darrin puts on great races, and to watch the pros. Shoot they fly! Good to see Julia is alive and to see her husband Chris again. I finally paced myself better on the run. I ran a 5:48 at the first mile instead of a 5:10 a blew myself up. I felt calm and relaxed the whole time.
