Swim
Comments: I thought my swim went OK so I was disappointed with my pace. However my swim time in 2010 is only 44 secs slower than 2009. By my math my pace for 2010 is 2:13. I had some issues on the last leg with sighting. The 3:13 pace seems realistic. What would you do differently?: Get s swim warmup in if possible. I had some troubles with my goggles right before the start of the swim but no issues once the race started. Transition 1
Comments: No real T1 issues. One heel got stuck but not an issue. T1 I was 2nd in AG +6 secs from the fastest T1 time. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Garmin had course a little short again this year. Improved from 20.4 to 21.2 mph and pleased with bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: 4th in AG, +23 secs from fastest. This year I did put socks on, added a few secs. I also (stupidly) went the wrong way for run out for maybe 10-15 yards. What would you do differently?: No wrong turns. Run
Comments: I was hoping for a pace close to or under 7:00. Started out OK but the heat/humidity caused my pace to drop. I did hang with a 35 yr old who passed me at mile 1. Our paces slowed about the same. No foot/blister issues this year. On the plus side, I actually had a faster run time than Mark, probably the first and only time this will happen. What would you do differently?: Tough conditions. Not the pace I was hoping for but I was 1st in AG and decent in overall placing. Post race
Warm down: Lots of fluids. They had hamburgers/hot dogs this year. Pleased with a podium finish but hoped to get a little faster closer to 2:30 or under. What limited your ability to perform faster: My training is much more balanced this year. It appears my bike times have improved based on this tri, the du and TT. I need to get back to better run pace and I'm close. Swim times still have the greatest potential for improvement. Event comments: Another good race with new RD. Great time traveling with TriRochester group again. Jerry & Donna did another great job hosting all of us. Sawra and I were 3rd in our AG, Jenny and Harvey won their AG. 4 podium finishers is another great showing for the club. Last updated: 2010-04-14 12:00 AM

Honey Nut Cheerios and a banana. We caravaned from the Carey's in Blue Ridge to race site about a 15-20 minute drive. This year our tent was already set up for us. We also had assigned racks but not individual spots.
I did get a bike & run warmup done. Used the bike warmup to do a potty stop away from TA. Brought own TP, worked out well. No swim warmup.
