Just before we left...started to rain...but...a very heavy rain with gusty winds...Yikes...!!!

Took our coolers with beverages and left from home around 4:45 am...and...all in our way to Key Biscayne was raining...Yikes...but...Thanks Godness the rain stopped just arriving to there...took us around 45 minutes to get to Key Biscayne...and...before headed to Crandon Park...stopped for our usual technical stop by the restrooms located after the Rickenbacker bridge...

The 2 line at the entrance of Crandon Park were moving fast cuz many of us already got the Pre-Paid Pass at Mack Cycle...Nice...!!!

Parked car...took bikes, Tri-bags, and coolers and headed directly to Transition Area...our rack was the 1st one next to the Run Exit...and...racked our bikes on a good spot...

Went to get my timing chip...and...put it very tigh on my left ankle...

Went back to Transition...and...did set-up all my Race stuff like usual:
Helmet over seat, a green towel in front on my bike...and...over my biking/running shoes...and...over my biking shoes my sunglasses...my belt with Bid# inside my hat wrapped next to my running shoes with a bottle of frozen water...

Fill my Speedfil with ice/water...checked gears, tires and cyclocomputer...

Placed Tri-bag and cooler out of the rack area next to the fence...and...sat over my cooler...relaxed...closed eyes...and...did my final visualization of the Race...took 2 Hammer Gels, 2 Endurolytes with water and a mix of Cytomax / AminoVital...

Took swimming cap, googles and wax ear-plugs and headed to the beach to the Swim Area...and...when I was jogging in my way to the Swim Area...I could feel the strong winds...and...the ocean was a little choppy...Yikes...!!!
Event warmup:

At the Swim Area...met with Buddy...put...my wax ear-plugs, swimming cap and googles...and...after some stretchings...We jumped into the water...and...the water was not too warm and not too cold...felt fresh...very nice...!!!

Swam maybe 100 mts and went back to shore...met with our tri-friend Angelo and other tri-friends...

The Race started as usual on time at 6:58 am with the 1st Wave (Pro/Elites and Physical Challenge)...after 2 minutes...the Duathlon in mass...and...every 5 minutes the rest of the Waves...there were in total 9 Waves...Buddy was in the Wave#4 (Male 40-44, Male 55+) at 7:10 am and...me...Wave#7 (Female 35+) at 7:25 am...

2010 Trilogy Swim Course

Lined with all the women at shore...when the horn went off...ran and jumped into the water...and...swam the best I could till the 1st bouy with the leaders...the fast swimmers...Wuaoooo...first time...I get to the 1st bouy w/out any incident...contact or combat...but....just after the 1st bouy in my way to the 2nd bouy....trying to swim with my usual constante stroke...I started to feel like I was trapped like a rat for a bunch of women...all around me...it was too crowd...OMG...a woman coming on my left side...started to smack over me with her right arm...WTH...and..every time that I tryed to move more to the right to be far from her...she approched more to me....Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww...and...it was difficult for me cuz there were tons of women around me and no way to go...and...suddenly...I don't know WTH happened to this woman...but...maybe she lost her natural GPS/radar but...she crossed almost over me...in front of me to the other side...and...at that point...I was really mad with her and all the situation...that when she crossed to the other side I swam over her and pushed her down....Sorry...!!!
But finally I could focuse in my constante swimming till the Swimming Exit after losing time dealing with this woman....Yikes...!!!
Just when my fingers touch the sand...I got up and ran as fast as possible to the Swim Exit Arch...at the same time...removing googles, swimming cap and wax ear-plugs and put them inisde the cap...

Here coming out of the water...

2010 Trilogy Bike Course

Just in the mount area...jumped into my bike and took off...cranking like crazy...passing a lot of people...at that point...I recognized somebody coming on my left...It was my LIN team partner Amy...she was pissed off...apparently had some problems with her bike...leaving from Transition...but...she was there smocking...like nothing happened...LOL

In our way to the Rickenbacker Bridge...a lot of bike traffic...and...we had strong winds with us...we were flying...very nice...!!!

The first climb was fast...got at the top...a nice view...and...down bridge...at more than 35 mph...Yahoooooooooooo...!!!

2010 Tri-Miami Triathlon

But just at the U-turn...I knew that the worst was coming...strong headwinds/crosswinds on our way back to Transition...Yikes...!!!

Here in my second climb...and...passing a lot of people...

2010 Trilogy#2 Photobucket
2010 Trilogy#2

The second climb was a little slower..got at the top...and...going down bridge...the same...but...I could feel the strong headwinds/crosswinds....Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww....!!!!

And just when I got at the Bear Cut bridge...it was here were I really felt the strong croswwinds coming from south...wuaoooo...they were pushing me out of my way...but...Thanks Godness....after the Marina...with all the bushes at the side of the road...blocked some of these winds...and...it was much better going back to TRansition...

Got at the desmount area...and...did it like usual...like the Pro/Elites but keeping shoes on...and...jumped off the bike and ran fast inside to Transition....
What would you do differently?:

Continue with my windy bike trainings...If they don't kill me...make me stronger...LOL

I know I can do it better even the windy conditions...my best time in this Bike Course is 31m05s

2010 Trilogy Run Course

Just out of Transition running not too fast and not too slow...with a constante pace...put my belt with Bid# and hat...drank some water...and...tossed some over my head and neck...brrrrrr...it was very cold...but...made me wake-up...and...started to increase a little more my speed...on my way to the u-turn at the mile 0.5...saw Amy coming...she was lieading...and....behind...other girl of our AG..Deirdre...and...I really didn't know who else was in front of me...but...I knew that I was at the top 5...
I was not running like usual...I was feeling heavy...maybe the humidity affected me...but...I knew that I was slower than usual...

Here running the tough section in between the mile 1 and the mile 2...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Let me think...hummmmm...LOL
The circunstances during the swimming...
The tough winds druing the Bike...and...maybe
The high humidity during the run...

I know I can do it better...my best time in this Race is 1h07m32s...and...It's my goal to beat...

Also according with most of the tri-peeps...got an average of 2 minutes slower comparing with the Trilogy#1...

In my particualr case...was almsot 2 minutes slower...I did it in 1h 09m 49s....Yikes...!!!

Event comments:
